To ensure the long-term durability and performance of our surface protection coatings, customers are requested to follow the care instructions strictly. Below are the potential causes for coating issues and the recommended Do’s and Don’ts.

Hydrophobic Coating

Possible causes

  • Frequent washing with dirty cloths
  • Using mud-covered or heavily soiled cloths
  • Washing with hard or saline water
  • Not using a microfiber or clean cloth regularly

Do’s

  • Use only soft, clean microfiber cloths for cleaning
  • Wash the car in shaded areas to avoid water spots
  • Use pH-balanced car shampoos

Don’ts

  • Do not wash daily with tap or hard water
  • Avoid using dirty or mud-stained clothes
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or detergents

Self-Healing Coating

Possible causes

  • Daily rough washing with improper materials
  • Use of dirty, muddy, or abrasive cloths
  • Hard water wash over a long period
  • Ignoring regular maintenance and inspections

Do’s

  • Maintain regular cleaning using soft cloths
  • Gently wash using clean water and car-safe solutions
  • Follow periodic maintenance schedule advised by Gaelic

Don’ts

  • Do not scrub or forcefully rub the surface
  • Avoid using unclean or abrasive materials
  • Don’t expose to hard water regularly without rinsing off properly

Peel-Off Issues

Possible causes

  • Using hot water or steam for washing
  • Excessive heat from gaming zones or internal equipment
  • Manual tampering or poor handling

Do’s

  • Use lukewarm or room temperature water only
  • Park in shaded or temperature-controlled areas if possible

Don’ts

  • Never wash or expose the surface to boiling or very hot water
  • Avoid placing heat-generating electronics near the protected area

Yellowing (Discoloration)

Possible causes

  • Regular washing with hard or saline water
  • No maintenance or inspection for 6 months or longer
  • Exposure to chemical-laden water or substances

Do’s

  • Perform maintenance check every 3 to 6 months
  • Use filtered or RO water where hard water is an issue
  • Clean using products recommended for coated surfaces

Don’ts

  • Do not delay routine care beyond 6 months
  • Avoid unfiltered or harsh water
  • Don’t ignore signs of discoloration — act early

Cracking

Possible causes

  • Extended exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat
  • Parking the vehicle for long durations under intense sunlight
  • Lack of surface hydration or neglect

Do’s

  • Park in shaded or covered parking as often as possible
  • Maintain regular cleaning and hydration of the surface

Don’ts

  • Do not leave your vehicle parked in open sun for days
  • Avoid pressure washing under hot sun immediately after exposure
